Before starting the registration, you need to choose the legal form of the company. Our recommendation is an LLC (d.o.o.), which has many advantages and carries less risk than being a sole proprietor.

Signing the founding documents

Steps to Starting a Company in Serbia:

1. Consultation and Choosing a Legal Form
We discuss your business plan and advise you on choosing the appropriate legal form (entrepreneur, LLC, or another type of company). Together we select the company name, determine the activity code, and check the availability of the name.

2. Document Preparation
We prepare all the necessary documentation for registration. This includes the founding act (Decision on Establishment or Agreement on Establishment for an LLC), statements from founders and directors, filling out the unified registration form (JRPPS), and any other required forms. If needed, we arrange for notarization or translations for foreign nationals.

3. Electronic Registration Application
Since May 2023, company registration in Serbia has been conducted exclusively online. We will submit the electronic application to the APR on your behalf using a qualified electronic signature. You don’t have to worry about the technical details — we handle the entire process of document submission and fee payment.

4. APR Decision and Tax ID (PIB)
After submission, the APR usually issues the Decision on Establishment within a few working days. Your company then automatically receives a registration number and a Tax Identification Number (PIB). We’ll send you the decision as soon as it’s issued and notify you about the successful registration.

5. Additional Registrations and Starting Operations
If needed, we assist you with registering your company for VAT (if you plan for higher turnover) or with registering activities with the Statistical Office. We also advise you on opening a business bank account and other initial steps (such as registering the founder in the Central Register of Ultimate Beneficial Owners, etc.).
